Model UN

Since 2013, (before Two Roads was even born), I have been coaching a Model UN team. We have grown quite a bit over the last few years, and next year we're adding a second class so that each class can focus on a different aspect of Model UN-ing.

Model UN - General Assembly

Open to students in 7th-12th grade, Model UN is focused on learning research skills, public policy, geopolitics, and negotiation. While less formal than debate in some ways, it requires a lot of academic prowess. Our GA class meets on Thursday mornings and is focused learning how to MUN - GA - style. This is a great beginner class - but students who are experienced in MUN and interested in the semester's topic, can also join. Conferences are not required.

Crisis MUN

Crisis MUN meets on Friday mornings and is a great way to practice Model UN skills. While crisis still requires research, knowledge of geopolitics, negotiation and public speaking skills - it also requires delegates to be quick on their feet and to strategize both publicly and 'behind the scenes.' Topics can span anything from current events to Jack and the Beanstalk.
